Our Wellbeing Curriculum

At Hart Plain we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of all our pupils. We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable, and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support.

We can offer various levels of support for all our children at the different times it may be required.

Our universal offer of support includes all aspects of our wellbeing curriculum. We teach the children how to recognise and strategies to improve their mental health both in the short and long term.

Trick Box is a positive habit-forming, whole school, emotional management and            personal development programme which supports children and young people and their families. The Trick Box develops personal skills in 4 key areas through positive habit formation.

The Zones of Regulation teaches children how to recognise their own emotions and how to detect different emotions of others. It also gives them the skills to learn healthy coping and self regulation strategies.

Through our PDL lessons children will be equipped with the self-regulation and social tools needed to be calm, confident, communicative and creative members of the community.

We believe children must understand how to take care of themselves both physically and mentally in order to be successful adults. Our PE curriculum wholly promotes health and fitness alongside emotional and physical wellbeing.

Our additional and targeted support is varied and encompasses a wide range of resources and outside agency support.
